Businessman and philanthropist Mr. Gustav Anokye-Yeboah built a state-of-the-arts Mothers’ Hostel and an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Emergency Centre at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

Commissioning both health projects in Cape Coast, First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo applauded the outstanding generosity of Mr. Anokye-Yeboah and said any support or contribution from an individual, group or organization in the support of maternal health would be most welcome.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo said the facilities would enhance effective and appropriate maternal care and help avoid preventable maternal deaths that occur as a result of complications.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo also commended the hospital management for the judicious use of their Internally Generated Funds to support the establishment of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Centre, saying this exemplified resourcefulness and a can-do-spirit that was worthy of emulation.
