The 2020/21 Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of OLA Girls Senior High School, Ho, gave OLA Senior High School 40 chairs, eight double-room canopy covers and a projector worth a total cost of GHS7,800. The 2021/22 SRC presented the package within hours of completion of the final paper in the West Africa Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination. The donated package was funded with SRC’s project levies and voluntary contributions from students.
Outgoing School Prefect Ms. Adwoa Welhermina Dah said the donation was a token contribution by the 2020/21 SRC to support effective teaching and learning at OLA Girls Senior High School. Ms. Dah thanked school authorities for their sacrifices in imparting knowledge and discipline in the outgoing students over the years they spent at the school. She urged junior students to study diligently towards a bright future.
Acknowledgement & Gratitude
The donation event was held to coincide with the induction of the graduating students into the Past OLA Girls Association (POGA). The Headmistress of OLA Senior High School Ms. Regina Coffie received the gift package and thanked the SRC for its thoughtfulness. Ms. Coffie appealed to newly minted POGA members to continue supporting the school in order to raise the flag of OLA Ho to greater heights. She entreated the new POGA members to endeavour to excel in whatever good undertaking they found themselves in. “I strongly believe that this noble institution has shaped you into ladies of substance who are ready to add value to society,” she said.
POGA was founded to complement the efforts by the government by providing vital infrastructure and other amenities to enhance teaching and learning in the school and also seek the welfare of the members. This includes the refurbishment of the science and computer laboratories, the provision of furniture, the sponsoring of the annual Speech and Prize Anniversary and the National Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition among several others.
