Accra Brewery Ltd (ABL) gave the maternity ward of Adabraka Polyclinic a delivery bed, examination gloves, baby bath tubs, bed linens, diapers, wipes, powdered milk and beverages. The outreach was part of ABL’s Better World Agenda, through which the company invests back to improve the livelihood of residents in Adabraka and its surrounding neighborhoods.

Legal and Corporate Affairs Director of ABL Ms. Adwoa Arthur said ABL was a proud part of Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABInBev), the world’s largest brewer. Ms. Arthur noted that ABL’s agenda has been to improve the lives of the people in its surrounding communities where it has operated since 1931.

The decision to reach outreach to the polyclinic was made after ABL’s consultations with Dr. Abdul Razak Quao, Head of Facility at Adabraka Polyclinic. Dr. Quao identified the needs of the maternity ward of the polyclinic as an important priority.

Ms. Arthur explained that, besides being part of ABL’s Better World Agenda, the outreach was also a contribution to Ghana’s effort to attain the UN SDGs Goal No. 3, which focuses Good Health and Well-Being. She was also confident that the social outreach would help reduce maternal and infant mortality rates at the Polyclinic.
