Access Bank Ghana donated an ambulance to the University of Professional Studies, Accra. This gift fulfills a long-term commitment of Access Bank to the university. Divisional Head of Retail Banking at Access Bank Mr. Stephen Abban said the ever growing long-term partnership between Access Bank and the USPA provided the basis for fulfilling a long-standing promise to the university, especially with the growing Covid-19 pandemic. UPSA had asked Access Bank for support for its campus healthcare system in 2017 after a performance audit of the University Medical Centre.

Mr. Abban said Access Bank believed in giving back to society and took its CSR commitments seriously. He explained that Access Bank recognized that UPSA had a large student population and staff base, which meant the university clinic would need an ambulance to serve the larger university community. The university currently has a student and staff population of about14,000.

The Vice-Chancellor of UPSA Prof. Abednego Amartey expressed his excitement about the gift and thanked the management and staff of Access Bank for their generous support. Prof. Amartey said effective transportation of patients is very critical to their survival, which made the donation by Access Bank very timely. hence the gesture by the bank was timely.
