Achimota Retail Centre started off the commemoration of its fifth anniversary with the gift of a consignment of medical supplies and PPEs to Achimota Hospital in Accra. The gift package included latex examination gloves, disinfectants, industrial sanitizers, face masks, liquid soap, floor cleaning gels and a set of specially built Veronica buckets.

Mr. Isaac Kyei-Mensah, a Director at Achimota Retail Centre remarked that the Achimota Hospital staff were doing “God’s work, both on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as in the normal day-to-day lives” of the community’s people. Mr. Kyei-Mensah said the team at Achimota Retail Center were proud of the work of healthcare professionals, the “heroes” who took risks to keep people in the community safe. He said the gift PPEs and supplies were a token of the appreciation of the centre’s board and management.

Medical Superintendent of Achimota Hospital Dr. Salamatu Atta Nantogma received the gift package and thanked Achimota Retail Centre for the support. Dr. Nantogma described the donation as timely, noting that were were not out of the woods yet in terms of the persisting need for medical equipment and supplies. She noted as institutions that handles more than 3,000 infant deliveries each year, such support was invaluable to the hospital’s operations and helps ease some of the cost pressures.
