AirtelTigo donated GH¢20,000 to the Otumfuo Charity Foundation to support educational initiatives. The gift affirms AirtelTigo’s commitment to education as one of the focus areas of its Corporate Social Responsibility programs.

CEO Mitwa Kaemba Ng’ambi announced the donation during a visit by an AirtelTigo delegation to the Manhyia Palace to congratulate the Asantehene on his 20th anniversary of enstoolment.

Mrs. Ng’ambi explained that AirtelTigo believe believed that education held the key to the successful development of any nation AirtelTigo’s investment in the education of children was one of the surest ways to ensure long-term impact in beneficiary communities.

Mrs. Ng’ambi further added that AirtelTigo’s long-term goal was to invest heavily in education as the company’s contribution to helping Ghana advance on SDG 4.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, applauded AirtelTigo for its significant contribution toward teaching and learning in Ghana by improving the learning conditions of children in underprivileged communities.

The Asantehene also pledged support for the company’s new Corporate Social Responsibility initiative ‘Yεn Nkͻsoͻ Nti’. The initiative will support public school education in disadvantaged communities of Ashanti, Bono and Ahafo Regions.

Under the ‘Yεn Nkͻsoͻ Nti’ initiative, AirtelTigo will invest one percent of proceeds from airtime recharges by its customers in those regions into the development of educational facilities.
