Developing community infrastructure and improving access to basic services are hallmarks of any effort to reduce poverty and enhance the quality of life of a people. Many communities lack access to potable water, sanitation and hygiene facilities, schools, local market centers, healthcare infrastructure and services and other essential amenities that are needed to sustain vibrant community life and improve the quality of life in a our villages and towns.
Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings.
