OUR PURSUIT OF A JUST SOCIETY

Ghana has its fair share of deep socio-cultural, economic and political structures that empower and privilege some individuals and groups while disempowering and disarticulating others, especially women and girls, individuals living with special needs and ethnic minorities. A complex intersection of age, gender, education level, income status, rural v. urban residence, disability status, etc. define people’s vulnerability. We end up with an uneven field of daily life in which the disadvantaged get less and less access to resources and opportunities.

The surest way to keep a people down is to educate the men and neglect the women. If you educate a man you simply educate an individual, but if you educate a woman you educate a family [and by inference, a nation].

OUR PURSUIT OF A JUST SOCIETY

Ghana’s proud Commonwealth of Goodwill™ recognizes that social discrimination and marginalization affects people’s life chances by limiting their ability to access opportunities and live out their full potentials. In this section of the Aistiphi Gazette, we document social interventions deployed in Ghana’s Philanthropy Space™ by members of Our Commonwealth of Goodwill to foster equal and equitable access and bring us closer to our aspirations of a just society.
