Akoma Mu Nsem show of Akoma FM (subsidiary of Media General) raised GHS10,000 to pay for prosthetic limbs for Ms. Millicent Kyeremeh, 38, who lost both limbs to an illness that rendered her incapacitated. She had the opportunity to share her story on the show and touched the hearts of listeners who willingly donated cash to procure a standard prosthesis to enable her to go about her normal duties.

The host of Akoma Mu Nsem show Akosua Addai Munumkum played a leading role in appealing for funds on the show to support Ms. Kyereme and raised a little over GHS¢10,000 in donations via mobile money and bank transfers.

Mr. Micheal Antwi, a radio evangelist and a panelist on Akoma Mu Nsem show led a team of the show’s production team to present the funds to Ms. Kyeremeh who thanked Akoma FM listeners and others who contributed to effort. “I don’t know what would have happened to me without this gesture, God richly bless you,” she said.

Ms. Millicent Kyeremeh was diagnosed with diabetes after a sudden experience with light headedness while she went about her trading. After a while, her two arms began to rot so the doctors advised amputation of both limbs to save her life. She is now a person with disability who is need of support to get back to normal life.
