As old students of Senior High Schools continue to explore diverse ways of contributing their quota to the development of their alma maters, the ‘98 year group of Prempeh College (Amanfoo ‘98) in this light presented the school with a new set of hi-tech musical equipment at a cost of Gh¢ 45,000.

This included 2 big Woofers, 2 big speakers, Mixers, Laptop, Microphones, 5000VAStabiliser, Equalizer, Crossover, Amplifier, Power Distribution Board and a Storage rack.

Presenting the gadgets on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in the midst of colleague year mates, Amanfoo ‘98 Organizing Secretary, Edward Sem-Brako described it as the group’s way of giving back to the institution that has made its members who they are today. According to him, the initiative was strategically executed to meet a pressing and relevant development need of the school.

“We enquired from the school administration the urgent needs of the school. Out of those outlined, the group settled on the musical gadgets because we realized they would serve a dual-role – that is for educational and entertainment purposes.

Obviously, without a good public address system, communication at gatherings would be unduly affected – especially among a student population of almost 3,000. High Quality gadgets also means quality entertainment for the students which remains key for education – after all, as its always said, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” he said.

Receiving the gadgets on behalf of the school, the headmaster of Prempeh College, Mr. Samuel Fordjour expressed their appreciation for the gesture. He described it as a timely intervention citing the challenges the school has had to face for some time now in terms of access to high quality musical and address systems.
