The Cedar Mountain Chapel International donated GHS15,000 to support the CSR interventions of Citi FM 97.3 out of which GHS10,000 was earmarked for the Citi FM Foundation and the remainder of GHS5,000 for Citi FM’s annual ‘Help a Christmas Child’ initiative. Cedar Mountain Chapel made the gift to commemorate Citi FM’s 16th anniversary.
Head Pastor of Cedar Mountain Chapel International Rev. Dr. Stephen Y. Wengam announced the gift package at an anniversary thanksgiving service attended by management and staff of Citi FM at Cedar Mountain Chapel in Accra. Rev. Dr. Wengam said there was cause to celebrate what the good Lord had done for the church, noting that Citi FM hasd been very crucial in the growth and development of Cedar Mountain Chapel.
Rev. Dr. Wengam said the station stuck with the church through the church’s 10-year journey. He explained that, for that reason, Cedar Mountain Chapel wanted to identify with the charitable initiatives of Citi FM Foundation such as paying school fees of brilliant students from income-poor backgrounds and supporting an orphanage in the Eastern Region.
Managing Director of Citi FM and Citi TV Mr. Samuel Attah-Mensah received the gift and expressed gratitude for how far the good Lord has brought the station. He recalled that when Citi FM began, there were underdogs in the media game dominated by the “big boys.” He noted that 16 years afterwards the organization had built a profile that made it attractive. Mr. Attah-Mensah said Citi FM and Citi TV had an important commitment to make diligence a central part of everything the organizations did in their mission to God and in the cause for which they had been called.
