Xu Gong ( GH) Machinery Co. Ltd, China Zinzheng Ghana Friendliness Development Co Ltd, FAW First Ghana Motors Co. Ltd, Dragon Success GH Logistics Co. Ltd and LX Joyea Co Lt collectively donated GHS 80,000 worth of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Ghana Armed Forces in support of efforts to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus. The gift package included 15,000 face masks, 10 veronica buckets, 42 cartons of hand soap and 17 cartons of paper towels. Military attaché to the Chinese Embassy in Ghana Col. Zhao Hongquan presented the package of PPE and supplies on behalf of the Chinese Ambassador. Col Hogquan and touted the long-standing cooperation between the two armies of Ghana and China:
“We make donations, not only because we are friends with Ghana, but also because we have a shared future. We are one big family in the same boat, for Coronavirus does not respect national boundaries nor distinguish between races” – Col. Zhao
Brig. Gen. Amoah Ayisi received the items at the Army Headquarters on behalf of Chief of Army Staff Maj. Gen. Thomas Oppong Peprah. Brig. Gen. Amoah Ayisi commended the Chinese government and the five donor businesses for their kind support and gave the donors the assurance that the supplies would go to help protect military personnel at the forefront of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The five donor companies included Xu Gong ( GH) Machinery Co. Ltd, China Zinzheng Ghana Friendliness Development Co Ltd, FAW First Ghana Motors Co. Ltd, Dragon Success GH Logistics Co. Ltd and LX Joyea Co Ltd. They have been operating in Ghana for over a decade in the areas of logistics, mining, construction and heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
