Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of the Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company, held a one-day character-building training workshop for 600 junior high students of Sakumono School Complex I at Sakumono. Held under the theme, ‘The Coca-Cola Unearthing Greatness Workshop,’ the initiative was implemented in fulfillment of Coca-Cola Ghana’s CSR commitments in education, and was implemented in partnership with LeadAfrique International, an NGO with a mission of cultivating creative and responsive leaders for Africa.
Mr. Bethel Yeboah, Corporate Affairs Director of Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company – West African Countries, explained that the initiative was conceived upon the realization that society needed to pay particular attention to the personal development of teens because they were at a point in their lives where most of them faced uncertainty and continued to question their self-worth.
The workshop sought to unearth potential in pre-teens and teens of the Sakumono School Complex I by equipping the students with relevant life skills for their daily self-improvement. This included topics on understanding oneself and goal-setting, both of which are critical to self-development needs of students. The interactive sessions were accompanied by practical lessons during which all participants were given training manuals to enhance their understanding of the topics discussed.
