Dansoman branch of the Knights and Ladies of Marshallans lifeline to the Centre of Hope at Abossey Okai in Accra with the donation of food supplies worth GH¢15,000 and cash of GH¢2,000. The donation was was supported by Marshallans in collaboration with the Marshall Relief and Development Services (MAREDES)
Administrator of the centre Rev. Sister Colette Mwaakpaar noted that the centre had virtually ran out of everything, including food for residents and cash to settle bills. She described the assistance as timely and a great relief.
Rev. Sister Mwaakpaar told the visiting team of Marshallans that the previous day she had to turn away a woman seeking gari to feed her children because the centre did not also have any. With no knowledge that supplies was coming their way, she had asked the woman to come back on Monday.
Grand Knight of Council 71 Brother John Zigah said the assistance was part of the charitable outreach the Noble Order. He noted that such outreach gives true meaning to the motto of the order – Unity, Charity, Fraternity.

The Centre of Hope at Abossey Okai in Accra caters for 164 children, elderly and physically challenged persons as well as families in need who walk in to get assistance.
