Diamond Cement gave GHC100,000 to the COVID-19 National Trust Fund to support government’s effort to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus. In addition, Diamond Cement doanted 250 tonnes of cement worth GH₵150,000 to support rehabilitation of isolation centres across Ghana. The assistance package was the group’s contribution to boost the effort of frontline service providers and support society’s most vulnerable who are impacted during at this difficult time.

Chairman of Diamond Cement Group Mr. Mukesh Patel said the company recognized the the need for a concerted response to help minimize the negative impact of the pandemic on economic activities. Mr. Patel commended the government for taking necessary steps to prevent the spread of the pandemic and appealed to the general public to observe the public health and hygiene protocols outlined by government to avoid further spread of the virus.

The Minister of Information Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah thanked Diamond Cement Group and members of the Cement Manufacturers Association for their commitment to support government fight the pandemic.

Witnesses at the donation event included Rev. Dr. George Dawson-Amoah, Executive Secretary of the Cement Manufacturers Association of Ghana (CMAG) and Director of Diamond Cement Group Mr. BVK Raju.
