Ecobank Ghana has presented 25 needy but brilliant fresh BECE graduates at La Nkwantanan, in the Madina Municipality with scholarships to pursue their senior high school education.
The scholarships formed part of a GHC600,000 package Ecobank doled out in various social responsibility activities to mark this year’s 25th Anniversary edition of the annual Ecobank Day, which falls every last Saturday of October every year.
The day is set aside every year for Ecobank group of companies to give back to the communities in which they operate, and this year the bank undertook a number of laudable projects including scholarships to the 25 pupils who scored between aggregates six and nine.
Most of for pupils have already gained admission into top senior high schools in the country, including Wesley Girls High School, Mfantsiman Girls High School, Ola Girls, Mawuli Senior High School, and Pope Jones Senior High School among others.
Ecobank also gave 20 computers to the La Nkwantanan Cluster of four schools, plus a mechanized borehole, with a treatment plant and two water tankers, which addresses a lingering water shortage in the schools.
As part of activities for the day, Ecobank also provided seven other mechanized boreholes to various needy communities and institutions across the country
