Electroland Ghana Ltd., distributors of NASCO electronic appliances, gave the Black Stars of Ghana $10,000 to support the team’s qualifying campaigns for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and 2022 FIFA World Cup. The company announced that the cheque for $10,000 was the first part of $60,000 financial support package that was expected to be paid in six months.

Mr. Nour Sekloui, Managing Director of Electroland Ghana, explained that the company was responding to President Akufo-Addo’s appeal to businesses and individuals in Ghana to support the Black Stars. Mr. Sekloui said Electroland Ghana will donate $10,000 monthly between August 2021 and January 2022 to support the team’s preparation for the two qualifying campaigns.

“We agreed to donate $10,000 to the team every month for the next six months to raise our $60,000 package for the Black Stars.”

Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Mustapha Ussif received the cheque and thanked Electroland Ghana for responding to President Akufo-Addo’s appeal for support for the senior national soccer team. Mr. Ussif called on other businesses to come on board and noted that part of the funds raised will go towards supporting other sporting disciplines.
