Fabrimetal Ghana Ltd is working with the Ministry of Health to provide free medical grade oxygen to hospitals across Ghana for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. Under the partnership, Fabrimetal Ghana started with a donation of 100 cylinders of free oxygen to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and 9 cylinders to  LEKMA Hospital. Managing Director of Fabrimetal Ghana Mr. Raj Rohit said the company’s social intervention is intended to reduce the burden on government in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

HR Manager for Fabrimetal Ghana Ltd Mr. Bernard Senyo Avotri said the provision of medical oxgyment to hospitals was critical in helping reduce mortality in the fight against COVID-19. Mr. Avotri explained that the company wanted to reach out to individuals in critical care in hospitals and support the work of healthcare professionals in keeping patients alive.

Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Bernard Oko-Boye received the consignment donated oxygen supplies and thanked Fabrimetal for coming to the aid of government and hospitals at a critical time when oxygen supplies were most needed. Dr. Oko-Boye noted that government spent lots of money on oxygen because it was a consumable. With the free supply of oxygen from Fabrimetal Ghana, Dr. Okoe-Boye noted, government would now be ale to invest in other areas of hospital care that contributes to the survival rate of patients and enhances patient recovery.
