Agricultural Manufacturing Group (AMG) has donated GH¢100,000, 1,200 bags of fertilizers, nose masks and hand sanitizers as the Group’s contribution to the 36th edition of the annual Farmers Day celebration. The Group described its support for the celebration as the Group’s expression of gratitude to Ghanaian farmers.

Communications Manager for Agricultural Manufacturing Group (AMG) Mr. Berchie Isaac Opoku said AMG was impressed by the high level of agricultural output in Ghana, occurring despite significant disruptions to supply chains by the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Opoku noted that the observation was even more significant when it is considered within the context of neighboring countries who faced varying levels of food insecurity over the period.

AMG committed to the continued support to farmers to boost production in the produce and livestock segments. The company called for further enhancements to government’s flagship ‘Planting for Food and Jobs’ initiative, which was described as impactful.

Minister of State in charge of Agriculture Dr. Nurah Gyeile received the gift package and commended AMG for its unrelenting support, describing AMG as a major supporter of the celebration every year. The 36th edition of Farmers Day Celebration is slated for November 6, 2020, at Techiman in the Bono East Region.
