Members of Fathers’ Chapel International at Akyem Tafo in the Eastern Region donated GHC10,000 worth of rice, Milo, milk, canned fish, cooking oil, biscuits, beverages and bottled water to students of Akropong School for the Blind. The gift package also included toletries and wax prints.
Founder of Fathers’ Chapel Rev. Isaac Osei Bonsu made the presentation on behalf of the church. Rev. Bonsu said the gifts were meant to inspire the children and to assure them that they had ‘parents’ who cared for them. He mentioned that the church had visited to put smiles on the faces of the children and to tell them about God’s love for them because they were all God’s children.
Rev. Bonsu appealed to parents of children with disabilities to show them love and care. He admonished them to not hide them at home, but rather send them to school because God had good plans for them.
Headmistress of Akropong School for the Blind Mrs. Mahela Narh, Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Atsu Homadzi and the Headteacher of the Primary section Mr. Adede thanked the membership of Fathers’ Chapel for their kindness.
