First Atlantic Bank commissioned a fully-equipped, three unit Mother and Baby facility for Talensi District Hospital in Tongo.

Regional Director of Health service Dr. Winfred Ofosu outlined thanked the bank for its timely intervention, noting several challenges the hospital faced in delivery care for newborns and mothers.

Mr. Daniel Marfo, Executive Director of First Atlantic Bank, speaking on behalf of  CEO Mr. Odun Odunfa, described it as the first baby step in focusing the bank’s CSR efforts on health and education of women and children.

Mr. Marfo also pointed out that the bank was reaching out to a community in which it had no commercial presence or motive to seek economic reward. Rather, he described the bank’s decision as being led by God.

Chief of Baare Tongraan Kugbilsong Nanlebegtang, through his representative, Nab Nyakora Mautii commended the bank for their kindness and the completing the project in seven weeks.

The Chief assured the bank that the community leadership will provide security for the maternity block and ensure that the facility was used for its intended purpose of alleviating the plight of pregnant women and newborns in the Talensi Community.
