GCB Bank Limited has donated 2000 copies of books valued at GH¢40,000 ($10,500) to the Ghana Library Authority. The Ghana Library Authority will distribute the books to libraries and schools across the country.  The Bank funded the publication of a book titled “Anansesem-Adventures of Kweku Ananse authored by Abyna Ansaha Adjei and published by Frangipani Books Limited.

The Chief Operating Officer of the Bank, Mr Samuel Sarpong presented the books to Mr. Kwame Tenkorang and Mr. Guy Amarteifio, Executive Director of Ghana Library Authority and Greater Accra Regional Librarian during the celebration of the International Children’s Book Day in Accra.

He noted that the donation of 2000 books  to  the Ghana Library Authority was another gesture of the healthy relationship between GCB and the Authority for the benefit of school children and the reading public..

Mr. Guy Amartheifio commended the Bank for the donation and gave the assurance that the books will be distributed to round the country.

He appealed to other corporate organisations to emulate the example of GCB.
