GCB Bank supported the Kumasi-Kejetia Kayayei Resettlement Centre with a 75’ LED TV worth Ghc 93,000.
The Managing Director of GCB Bank Anselm R. Sowah said supporting deprived young ladies (Kayayei) should be a priority of everyone. The donation was consistent with the Banks commitment to promote savings, women’s values and advancement in Ghana.
Director of the Pamela Bridgewater Project Yahaya Alhassan expressed appreciation to Mr. Sowah and GBC and noted that GCB had already installed a Public Address System at the facility to be used to reach out to head-porters across the market on topical issues like health and education.
Mr. Alhassan also noted that the anti human traffic Unit will use the PA system to inform the girls (Kayayei) about the dangers of human trafficking from the north to the south.
