Ghana National Gas Company donated GHS120,000 and a package of PPE and sanitizers to Ellembelle District, Jomoro District and Nzema East Municipality to support efforts by the three jurisdictions in the preventive fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Each jurisdiction received GHS30,000 and a package of PPE and sanitizers. Operations General Manager of Ghana Gas Mr. Robert Kofi Lartey said the intervention was part of the company’s CSR commitments to assist in protecting residents of host communities from the pandemic.

Mr. Lartey stated noted that Ghana Gas was committing GHS120,000 to support local assemblies with PPE and hand sanitizers for health workers at frontlines who are risking it to protect everyone. Addressing the public, Mr. Lartey advised self-discipline as being critical for preventon at this time, especially strict adherence to social distancing protocols and hygiene advisories.

The District Chief Executive of Ellembelle Mr. Kwesi Bonzoh described the support of Ghana Gas as having come in timely given the heavy budgetary pressures on the local assembly because of the needed resources the assembly commits to the fight.  Mr. Bonzoh said the funds made available by the company will enable the district procure more PPE for to protect health workers.
