The Western Region office of Ghana Tourism Authority and COCOBOD gave boxes of chocolate to the Paedetric Unit of Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital to mark the annual Chocolate Day Celebration, which is held under the theme, ‘My Chocolate Experience, My Holistic Wellbeing.’

The Chocolate day event is celebrated under the auspices of Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture annually to promote the consumption of made-in-Ghana chocolate and promote awareness about chocolate as a healthy
option, in addition to its symbolism in the expression of love and kindness to others.

Chief Officer at Ghana Tourism Authority Mr. George Nkrumah Ansere said cocoa was an important product that is enriched with nutrients that are critical for human health and development.

Senior House Officer Prince Boadi of the Paediatric Unit of Effia Nkwanta Hospital was grateful to the Authority and partners for the donation. He pointed out several critical challenges facing the unit including the need for incubators for premature babies. He called on individuals and benevolent organizations to come to the unit’s help and assist them to purchase incubators to save lives.
