The staff of GHL Bank, supported the work of the Children’s Heart Foundation Ghana (CHFG) by paying for the total costs of surgery, anaesthesia, intensive care and ward stay for five-year old Ms. Efua Nhyira Baidoo, who was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a complex hole in heart condition. GHL Bank made the commitment in response to an annual fundraiser event held by Children’s Heart Foundation Ghana find sponsors for open heart surgeries needed to save the lives of sick Ghanaian children whose families cannot afford surgery and ancillary costs.

Mrs. Sylvia Adadey, Corporate Communications and Brands Management Supervisor and a member of the CSR Committee, said GHL Bank was obligated to help save lives through such interventions while focusing on its core business function of providing a one-stop bank for all financial needs of Ghanaians. She noted the the bank’s business recent transformation did not diminish its important social commitments.

“Our transformation from Ghana Home Loans to GHL Bank has not affected our passion to continue supporting as many people to realize their life-long dreams; whether it is education, health, business and life. That is why we resolved to help little Efua stay alive and healthy to pursue a promising future.”

Mrs. Jacqueline Ahomka-Lindsey, President of Children’s Heart Foundation Ghana received the cheque and expressed the Foundation’s gratitude to GHL Bank Ghana and other contributors who responded to the call in the Foundation’s 2019 fundraiser. Mrs. Ahomka-Lindsey commended GHL Bank for consistently heeding to the call of the Children’s Heart Foundation Ghana.

Mrs. Ahomka-Lindsey appealed to individuals, organizations and groups to come to the help Ghanaian families who find themselves in stressful and difficult situations in trying to save the lives of their children who are diagnosed with congenital heart conditions.

Prior to its transformation to GHL Bank, Ghana Home Loans contributed to the Children’s Heart Foundation consistently over the past five years and has support for the foundation a major part of the bank’s CSR commitments.
