The Ghana Insurance Brokers Association (GIBA) donated Gh₵10,000 worth of hospital equipment and food supplies to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital to boost the care of patients with mental disease.

The items include Hospital Beds (3), Stretchers (3), wheelchairs (3), ceiling fans (4), 50kg bags of rice (7), 50kg bags of sugar (2), 25L gallons of cooking oil (4), cartons of milk (8), packs of biscuits & bread, boxes and bags of mineral water, clothing, kids and adult clothing,  footwear and beddings Gh₵10,000 excluding the clothings.

President of GIBA Lena Adu-Kofi said the donation was part of the Association’s 30th Anniversary CSR outreach to support the less privileged in society.

Mrs. Adu-Kofi said Association exists to serve the interest of its members and secure a better life for people.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital Mr. Emmanuel A. Appiah expressed gratitude to GIBA and assured them of the judicious use of the items to the benefit of patients.

Mr. Appiah also called on benevolent organisations to follow the examples of GIBA to help improve the living conditions of the patients of the hospital.
