Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) donated a package of 3,000 personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Ghana Health Service and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. The gift is intended to support Ghana’s healthcare workers fight the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. CEO of Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) Mr. Mr Yoofi Grant described the assistance as a token of support for the Ghana Health Service and frontline workers.

Mr. Grant acknowledged that the equipment and supplies were in very high demand because they are imported from abroad. He expressed the commitment of GIPC  to ensure that critically needed resources were available to protect lives and support the fight against the pandemic.

Director General of Ghana Health Service Dr. Patrick Kuma Aboagye received the gift and expressed the appreciation  to GIPC. Dr. Aboagye noted that the health system was overstretched and would continue to be overstretched if did not do well at this time. He appealed to businesses to assist the hospital as regular health cases had to be addressed even as health workers were managing COVID-19 cases.
