GNPC Foundation commissioned a new, furnished six-unit classroom facility for Tamale Senior High School (TAMASCO) in the Northern Region. The new facility will help address infrastructural deficits associated with the ballooning student enrollment numbers that followed in the wake of the free senior high school policy.

Dr. Dominic Kwesi Eduah, Executive Director of GNPC Foundation said GNPC is committed to support the delivery of quality education to every Ghanaian regardless of their geographical location. This ensures that the proceeds of oil revenue is shared equitably by all. Dr. Eduah said the classroom facility is part of the foundation’s contribution to make quality education accessible to every Ghanaian child. He challenged school authorities to ensure that the facility was put to its best use.

Headmaster of Tamale Senior High School Rev. Edward Azeka described the facility as timely given the increasing student enrollment numbers and the associated challenge of accommodating students under the double track system. Rev. Azeka commended GNPC for the timely intervention to help reduce congestion in classrooms.

Other witnesses at the commissioning included Chief Director of the Northern Regional Coordinating Council Alhaji Alhassan Issahaku and Sagnarigu Municipal Director of Education Ms. Samata Mahama,
