GNPC Foundation donated a clinical chemical analyzer and a haematology analyzer to Nana Hima Dekyi Hospital at Dixcove in Ahanta West District of the Western Region. The donation followed an appeal by the hospital for assistance.
Executive Director of GNPC Foundation Dr. Dominic Eduah said the foundation’s vision was to impact lives of at least 10 million Ghanaians within five years of the foundation’s operation as a CSR unit of GNPC Ghana. He said health was a top priority in this major commitment to impact communities. Dr. Eduah tasked the hospital management to uphold the highest maintenance culture to ensure the longevity of the equipment.
Medical Superintendent of Nana Hima Dekyi Hospital Dr. Nana Asampong Brobbey thanked GNPC Foundation for their generous support. Dr. Brobbey said the hospital handles several cases that need further investigations. However, because of lack of needed equipment, the hospital has had to refer patients to other health institutions in Takoradi and other distant places.
Member of Parliament for Ahanta West Mr. Ebenezer Kojo Kum, whose office channeled the request for assistance to GNPC Foundation, said the donated lab equipment marked a giant step towards delivering better health services to the public.
Witnesses at the presentation included Paramount Chief of Upper Dixcove Nana Hima Dekyi XIV, Chief of Lower Dixcove Nana Akwasi Agyeman IX and Municipal Medical Superintendent Mrs. Caroline Effah Otoo.
