GNPC Foundation provided financial support for a two-year training program for some 400 artisans from Western and Western North Regions under the foundations ‘Skilled Artisans Project.’ Besides vocational and technical training, participants were also given training in financial literacy and management. Participants were also provided required logistics to enable them to start enterprises of their own. Graduating trainees were given support to write the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) certificate examination after a series of mock exams funded by GNPC foundation. The foundation’s ‘Skilled Artisans Project’ is expected to train about 4,000 youths in various vocational and technical disciplines. Executive Director of GNPC Foundation Mr. Dominic Eduah said the foundation would continue to provide communities with essential amenities and other educational facilities and provide scholarships for young people. Chairman of the Board of Trustees of GNPC Foundation Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II noted that foundation was making sure that all Ghanaians benefited from oil revenue by implementing numerous initiatives to improve living standards.
