The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) donated GHS100,000 to the National COVID-19 Trust Fund to complement government’s efforts at addressing the needs of the socially vulnerable and helping stem the the spread of novel coronavirus in Ghana.

General Secretary of of the Presbytery of ICGC Rev. Morris Appiah said the General Overseer of ICGC, the Presbytery and the entire membership of the Church were concerned about the outbreak of COVID-19. He explained that it was out of this concern that the entire church body was reaching out to support the collective effort, especially the effort to provide relief for people in need and the socially vulnerable.

A three-member delegation of the Presbytery of ICGC including Prophet Christopher Annor, Rev. Anthony Cudjoe and Rev. Morris Appiah donated the cheque to Chief of Staff at the Office of the President Mrs. Akosua Frema Osei Opare.

Chief of Staff Mrs. Akosua Frema Opare received the donation on behalf of government and urged Ghanaians to adhere to the lockdown and follow precautionary guidelines issued by WHO and the Ghana Health Service.

The Board of Trustees of the COVID-19 Trust Fund, which is chaired by former Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo, already started receiving contributions from institutions and the public.
