The Indian Association of Ghana and all Indian Regional Associations donated GHS375,001 to the COVID-19 National Trust Fund to support efforts of the Government of Ghana is fighting the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana and supporting the socially vulnerably who are most impacted by the outbreak of the pandemic and the associated control measures to stem the spread of the virus. The donated funds were mobilized from donations from Indian nationals in Ghana and Indian owned SMEs operating in Ghana.

The High Commissioner of India to Ghana H.E. Sugandh Rajaram joined the President of the Indian Community in Ghana Mr. Rajesh Thakker and other community leaders of Indian Associations in Ghana to present the cheque to the Chair of Board of Trustees of the Fund Justice Sophia Akuffo (retd). High Commissioner Rajaram explained that the one Ghana cedi unit in the donation has unique symbolic value in Indian culture and represented the principle of a person in need sharing one of all they have with another person in need. Justice Akuffo commended the Indian Community in Ghana for their generousity and solidarity in a time of extreme need.
