Japan Motors Trading Company Ltd donated a Yamaha Outboard Motor, Yamaha Water pumps and Yamaha Motorcycles to Ghana’s Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) in support of the 2020 National Farmers Day Awards. Mr. Abdul-Somad Alhassan Musah, Assistant Managing Director of Japan Motors, presented the equipment to Organizing Committee of the National Farmers Day at Ministries in Accra.

Mr. Abdul-Somad Alhassan Musah said Japan Motors’ annual support of the National Farmers’ Day celebration was a key CSR commitment on the company’s calendar. He noted that, as a patriotic organization, the company considered it important to support a national cause most notably when it was related to agriculture, which is critical for economic development. Mr. Musah hoped that the donated equipment would spur farmers to increase their output and provide adequate inputs needed to feed factories in order to eventually earn more foreign exchange for Ghana.

Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development Mr. Francis Kingsley Ato Codjoe and Chief Director at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture Mr. R.P. Ankobiah received the equipment. Mr. Codjoe noted the consistent support provided by Japan Motors over the years and commended the company for being a faithful partner to the Ministry and Ghanaian farmers. Mr. Ankobiah also commended Japan Motors as a trusted partner and hoped that the equipment provided would encourage farmers to produce more for Ghana.
