JL Properties Limited, a real estate agency in Accra has donated food items to the National Female U-17 Team, Black Maidens, at their camp base at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre, Prampram.

The donation , which included 20 bags of rice and 10 boxes of oil, was made to the team through the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) ahead ofthe upcoming FIFA U-17 Female World Cup tournament in Jordan, slated for September 30 to October 21.

The gesture follows an appeal by the president of the Ghana National Supporters Union(GHANSU), Mr Abraham Boakye, aka One Man Supporter, for support in aid of the preparations by the Maidens, who have been sent home  due to financial constraints.

Receiving the items, Mr. Oto Plahar,  the Public Relations Officer of MOYS thanked JL Properties for its support urging the Maidens to strive above all difficulties and excel at the tournament.

“On behalf of the Minister, I say a very big thank you to Mr Abraham Boakye (One Man Supporter) and JL Properties for coming to the aid of the Black Maidens.

The Minister has been working behind the scenes to make sure the team is well catered for and well prepared to undertake the assignment ahead of them”, he stated.

Florence Ano Fosua, who spoke on behalf of the team, thanked JL Properties and the Sports Ministry for the donation.

“We are very thankful for this gesture, we promise not to let you down as we prepare to take on the world. The tournament is not going to be easy but we promise to bring smiles to the faces of Ghanaians”.

The Marketing Manager of JL Properties, Megg Akoto, told the GNA that the company got to know about the plight of the Madisens through Mr Boakye after which they mobilised the resources to help the team.

Coach Evans Adotey, head of the technical bench of the Maidens expressed his delight with the gesture and urged other institutions to emulate JL Properties.
