Mr. Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, aka Bulldog, made a special gift of grocery, toiletries and essential supplies to inmates of the Striking Force police cells in Accra. Mr. Hanson also led a team of volunteers to sanitize and disinfect the cells. The gift package included biscuits, pizzas, bread, beverages, bottled water, premade meals, hand sanitizers, toiletries, vitamin C tablets, toilet paper and nose masks.
The donation was part of activities to mark the birthday celebration of Mr. Hanson. In remarks made by Mr. Hanson at the giving event, he thanked his family for putting up with him and being there when it mattered. Mr. Hanson also expressed appreciation to people who have helped him over the years to become the person he was today.
“Everyone knows the Bulldog story, how I was wickedly accused of murder and spent uncomfortable nights behind bars. Then recently, I spent days in the roughest and toughest cells in Ghana. But in all of this, I thank God for my life and what he is about to use me for.”
Mr. Hanson noted that he had once been in the cells and so he understood what the inmates were going through. He announced that he will soon be launching a forthcoming ‘Adopt a Cell’ campaign to promote inmate welfare.
