The Lebanese community in Ghana donated GHS2,150,000 to the COVID-19 National Trust Fund, set up by government to support the needy and vulnerable who are most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and related control measures. Ambassador of Lebanon to Ghana, Mr. Maher El Heir noted that the Lebanese Community in Ghana were very impressed by the level of commitment demonstrated by government to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Ambassador Maher El Heir affirmed the community’s readiness to support the Akufo-Addo Administration to fight and win the war against COVID-19.

Chief of Staff at Jubilee House Mrs. Akosua Frema Osei Opare received the cheque on behalf of the board of trustees of the Trust Fund. Mrs. Opare thanked the Lebanese Community in Ghana and noted that gift was an affirmation of the long standing relationship between Ghanaians and the Lebanese Community in Ghana. Mrs. Opare assured the donors that the COVID-19 National Trust Fund would apply donated funds diligently to serve the needs of the socially vulnerable and people in need of assistance.
