Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Markwei, General Overseer of Living Streams International Church, donated personal protective equipment (PPE) worth GHS10,000 to La Wireless Cluster of Schools to augment government’s efforts at fighting spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in schools. Rev. Dr. Markwei also donated cash of GHS10,000 to help change the roofing of classrooms. The gift package was made mark the 60th birthday Rev. Dr. Markwei and included the following:

  • 1,400 pieces of branded face masks
  • 1,400 disposable face masks
  • 9 Veronica buckets
  • 20 gallons of liquid soap
  • 5 gallons of hand sanitizers and
  • 20 rolls of disposable paper towels.

Rev. Dr Markwei noted that given the prevalence of COVID-19, the Living Streams International Church had prioritized the protection of schoolchildren as part of its community service commitments. He explained the the every child is important and we children a responsibility to do something to help them preserve their health for the future.

“The children and everybody in the church knows that I have a passion for La. I, therefore, commit myself to touch La with the gospel and to work as part of my social responsibility to lift up La and make sure it becomes a place to be celebrated, so help me God.”

Mrs. Millicent Lawson Adokpa, School Improvement Support Officer for Adobetor Circuit of the Ghana Education Service, received the donated supplies and commended Living Streams International Church for the kind gesture. Mrs. Adokpa pledged that her office would ensure that the items were used prudently along with resources provided government.“I am very grateful to the Man of God, particularly for the cash donation. These roofs have been here for long and indeed need to be changed,” she said.
