Mastercard Foundation Scholars at KNUST donated school supplies and waste bins to the Bosomtwe-Oyoko Community Day Senior High School in the Bosomtwe District of Ghana’s Ashanti region. The outreach to the school was held as part of the Scholars’ International Day of Service, a day set aside globally for scholars to give back to their immediate communities.

In remarks made at the giving event, a representative of Mastercard Foundation Scholars Mr Abraham Kudiabor was hopeful that the donated supplies and visual of scholars present among students would motivate the students to pursue their educational aspirations even in the face of the odds of poverty. Chief Counselor of MasterCard Foundation Scholars program – KNUST Rev. Fr. Dr. Stephen Jantuah encouraged the students to work hard, aim high and focus on their studies as their first priority.

The Senior Housemaster of Bosomtwe-Oyoko Community Day Senior High School Mr. Philip Asamoah Gyamfi received the gift package and expressed gratitude to the Mastercard Foundation Scholars, the Foundation and KNUST for the kind support.

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars offers scholarships to senior high graduates with excellent grades who cannot afford tertiary education. The 3+1+1 module allows the beneficiaries to study three years at the KNUST, continue at Arizona for a year to complete their undergraduate program and have another one year opportunity to pursue a Master’s program.
