Executive Chairman of McDan Group and Gugba Naa of Tamale, Dr. Daniel McKorley, inaugurated a GH¢1.2 million school block built by the McDan Foundation for Rhema International School, a public basic school in Yendi Municipality of Ghana’s Northern Region. The new school building replaces old dilapidated classroom block, which was no longer fit for purpose. The new facility has six classrooms, an office, a staff room, library and washrooms and provides a safe teaching and learning environment for students and teachers at the school.

In remarks at the inauguration in Yendi, Dr McKorley, said the school building project was part of series of projects initiated in 2019 to impact the lives of individuals, institutions and communities in northern Ghana. He pledged to continue with this support and appealed to management of the school and Municipal Assembly to ensure proper care and maintenance of the facility. Dr. McKorley encouraged the students of Rhema International School to study hard in order to achieve their dreams and become responsible citizens of in the future.

The Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abukari II, who joined Dr. McKorley to cut the tape to inaugurate the school block, commended Dr. McKorley and McDan Foundation for the support, which he believed would contribute to improving the quality of education in the area.

The Member of Parliament for Yendi Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama and Municipal Chief Executive for Yendi Alhaji Ahmed Yussuf Abubakar thanked Dr McKorley for complementing the efforts of government by providing modern school blocks in the communities to ensure the improvement educational quality. gesture and appealed to other philanthropists and non-governmental organisations to come to their aid.
