MTN Ghana gave a cheque for GH¢30,000 to the Osmanu N. Sharubutu Educational Fund. The company also gave the Office of the National Chief Imam rice, cooking oil, bottled water, soft drinks, two rams and MTN airtime to support the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.

At the presentation, there was an hour-long Quranic recitation initiated by MTN in honour of the Chief Imam’s centenary which fell on April 23, 1919. General Manager of Distributive Trade of MTN Ghana Mr. Abubakar Mohammed described the occasion as reflective of Allah’s favour and blessings on the Chief Imam and said MTN was happy to be associated with him.

Mr. Mohammed said MTN had made it a priority to support the office of the Chief Imam during Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations and also supports the National Hajj Board’s organizing of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca. Mr. Mohammed said the Chief Imam represents many of the values MTN Ghana stands for – integrity, relationship and leadership.

The National Chief Imam thanked MTN Ghana for its continuous support and prayed for Allah’s abundant blessings for the company and its management.
