MTN Ghana Foundation mobilized a donation of 6,000 units of blood at the company’s Save a Life 2020 blood donation campaign, exceeding its target by 1,000 units. MTN staff, trade partners and the general public participated in the drive to show love on Valentine‘s Day.  The campaign involved 24 donation centres in total from 16 regions of Ghana.

The donated blood was directed to blood banks at the National Blood Service, 37 Military Hospital, Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Ridge and other regional Hospitals.

Corporate Services Executive of MTN Mr. Samuel Koranteng described the campaign as a “huge success” that was attributable to all the public spirited individuals who stepped out to donate. Mr. Koranteng thanked all doors for stepping up to save lives.

The MTN “Save a Life” project is an annual Valentine’s Day blood donation exercise, organized by the MTN Ghana Foundation. The initiative provides MTN staff and other individuals the opportunity to donate blood to stock the National Blood Bank and other regional hospitals. The project begun in 2011 and has mobilized some 20,000 pints of blood since its inception.
