MTN Ghana gave a cheque of GHS20,000 to the Dormaa Traditional Council in support of Kwafie festival and the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the enstoolment of the Dormaa Manhene Osagyefo Oseadieyo Agyeman Badu II and Dormaahemaa Nana Odeneho Akosua Fima II. MTN also gave the Dormaa Traditional Council beverages and free airtime worth GHC1500.

MTN’s Area Sales Manager for Ashanti, Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions Mr. Kwasi Osei Hyeaman said MTN was delighted to join the people of Dormaa for both celebrations and to strengthen the cordial relations between MTN and the Traditional Authority.

Mr. Hyeaman said MTN acknowledges that festivals are integral to African culture and therefore MTN provides important support for traditional councils across Ghana through donations in cash and kind. He noted that MTN provides support for the celebration of some 30 festivals in Ghana, investments about which MTN is proud.

Chief of Amaasu Barima Dei Kusi-Gyabaa II, who was also vice-Chairman of the planning committee of the anniversary and festival celebrations,  received the donation on behalf of the Dormaa Traditional Council and commended MTN for the timely assistance.
