MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation reached out to Osamkrom Camp Prison in Agona Swedru with as gift package worth GHS30,000, which included a corn mill worth GHS6,000, medical supplies worth GHS8,000, groceries, PPE and toiletries. The groceries included gari, black-eye beans, rice, sugar, evaporated milk, noodles, cooking oil, drinking water and soft drinks. The PPE and toiletries package included 400 branded face masks, two Veronica buckets, toilet paper, detergents, 200 toothbrushes, toothpaste and antibacterial soap. MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation provided the inmates with 300 ready-to-eat waakye meals provided by Dr. Hilla Limann Foundation and Rockzwaakye.

MyHelp-YourHelp outreach to the prison was part of the Foundation’s commitment to give back to society during the Easter 2021 period. MyHelp-YourHelp believes its support to the prison will complement efforts of government to provide for prisoners. The Foundation promised to support the camp with more resources. Founder and President of MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation Mr. Nicholas Cofie said the Foundation was touched by the plight of the prison and its numerous challenges, which was brought to the attention of the Foundation by Mr. Ray Yorke Dadzie, a member of the Foundation.

Officer-in-charge of Osamkrom Camp Prison Mr. Justice Essumang (Assistant Director of Prison) was grateful for the support provided by MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation. Mr. Essumang appealed for more support to address the prison’s logistical challenges and raise the standard of living of prisoners. He identified a modern infirmary and a water pumping equipment as some of the immediate needs of the prison.
