The National Investment Bank (NIB) – Bolgatanga Branch in Ghana’s Upper East Region donated rakes, shovels, spades, wheelbarrows, gloves and bottled water to the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly to support the clean-up activities in the municipal area. The assistance was part of the Bank’s CSR programming and would help advance good sanitation and cleanliness.
Branch Manager of NIB – Bolgatanga Branch Mr. Ibrahim Issahaku explained that the tools were provided in response to a request from the Assembly for support in improving the sanitation situation in the municipality. Mr. Issahaku added that the NIB – Bolgatanga Branch attached much importance to clean-up campaigns and initiatives because such activities helped to rid communities of filth and general unhygienic conditions.
“The bank’s gesture is also in fulfillment of one of its seven core values of community, commitment, collaboration, creativity, candour, customer service excellence and competence,” Mr. Issahaku said.
The Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Joseph Amiyuure received the tools package and thanked NIB for the support. Mr. Amiyuure observed that the tools had come in advance of the Assembly’s impending clean-up campaign to be held as part of the May Day celebrations.
In 2020, NIB-Bolgatanga donated GHS5,000 to the Upper East Regional Secretariat of the National Disaster Management Organisation to support efforts to provide relief supplies to flood victims who suffered tremendous losses after torrential rains and spillage from the Bagre Dam.
