The Ghanaian Battalion serving with United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) held a free health exam and medical outreach 64 inmates at the Bentiu Prison at Northern Liech State at the Rubkona County, Unity State.

The outreach was part of the civilian military battalion’s co-operation (CIMIC) activities. The CIMIC team also donated assorted food supplies to the inmates.

Led by Senior Medical Officer, Flt. Lt. Maxwell Atindaana, the outreach team screened inmates for Malaria, Hepatitis B and C and did Random Blood Sugar (RBS) tests.

Commander of the Prison, Brig. Gen. Yoanis Orlando was very grateful and appreciative of the kind gesture from the team. Brig. Gen. Orlando noted that it was the first time a team of this kind had visited the prison.
