In celebration of 2022 World Oral Health Day, Pepsodent Ghana partnered with the Ghana Dental Association to provide free dental check-ups via dental camps across Ghana that has so far benefitted more than 100,000 individuals. The outreach is part of the ‘Don’t Wait Until It’s Too Late #TalkToADentist’ campaign to create awareness about the importance of regular visits to the dentist.

Mr. Joel Boateng, Oral Care Category Manager at Unilever Ghana said it was part of Pepsodent brand’s mission to “unleash the power of healthy smiles by eradicating oral disease for everyone,” which is why the Pepsodent was providing free dental check-ups across Ghana.

“Through this service, we aim to help Ghanaians take control of their oral health and avoid severe pain, costly and complicated treatments, and ultimately tooth loss.”

The campaign has held free dental exams at various touch points across Ghana including the Ministry of information, Okaishe Market, Bogoso-Appiate, Haatso-Ecomog, Zenu, New Abirem, Afigya-Kwabre South District, Koforidua, Dunkwa-Offin, Accra Mall, Westhills Mall and Junction Mall.

Pepsodent believes that everyone has a right to good oral health. By providing dental screening opportunity to individuals, Pepsodent hopes to encourage Ghanaians to build long-lasting and good oral care habits and avoid waiting too long to get treatment and get early care when it is relatively easier to fix dental problems.

Dr. Paapa Puplampu, President – Ghana Dental Association observed that people tend to ignore the warning signs of a dental problem, such as toothache or gum bleeding and hope it would go away. “However, talking to a dentist at the first sign of a problem can help to fix issues before they become serious,” he explained.
