Perseus Mining built and commissioned a GH¢494,000-value health for Abena Abena Community in Wassa Amenfi East.

The health facility has a consulting room, maternity ward, antenatal care unit, dispensary, ward and a public health section.

The project was part of the company’s social responsibility to the host community and also marked the 30th anniversary.

Prior to the construction of the facility, people in the community travelled long distances to seek healthcare.

General Manager of Perseus Mining Stephen K. Ndede noted that four months into the centre’s operation, it had already seen 730 patients, including 25 successful infant deliveries.

Board Chairman and the Omanhene of Owirnkyiman Traditional Area Ehunabobrim Prah Agyensaim urged the nurses to work diligently to take care of the health needs of the people.

Paramount Chief of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area Tetrete Okuamoh Sekyim expressed gratitude to the company and urgend peaceful relations to ensure rapid  development of the area.
