Project Management Institute (PMI) Ghana Chapter donated disposable gowns, face masks, tissues, head covers, non-contact thermometers and advanced Veronica Buckets valued at GHC35,000 to the Ga East Municipal Hospital, Kwabenya, and the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service. President of the Ghana Chapter of PMI Ms. Jumoke Lafenwa said the package of equipment and supplies will help the beneficiary institutions to manage recorded cases and lower the risk new infections.

Ms. Lafenwa explained that the package was PMI Ghana Chapter’s contribution to government-led efforts to efforts to stop the spread of the virus through provision of medical supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to frontline professionals.

Dr. Ebenezer Oduro Mensah, a member of the COVID-19 Management Team at Ga East Municipal Hospital, lauded PMI for the assistance. Dr. Mensah also cautioned Ghanaians not to think that the disease does not exist simply because they do not see people being visibly sick. He noted that the Ga East Municipal Hospital, which is one of the country’s COVID-19 Treatment Centres, had recorded 8 full recoveries out of 182 patients since March 21, when the first diagnosed patient was admitted.
