Prudential Bank Limited (PBL) donated GH¢50,000 to Ghana School of Law to support infrastructure renovation and expansion projects of the school being undertaken to advance legal education in Ghana. Speaking at a giving event, Mr. Thomas Broni, Executive Head, Operations at Prudential Bank remarked that supporting education was a key focus area of the Bank’s CSR activities.

“As an indigenous bank, we believe that, as the country expands, there is always a need for the services of the legal profession in the provision of fair, effective and efficient law and order.”

Mr. Thomas Broni | Executive Head, Operations at Prudential Bank

Mr. Broni said Prudential Bank was privileged to have had the opportunity to contribute financially to such a worthy cause. He noted that the Bank’s newly formed partnership with the school was expected to grow just like several other rewarding partnerships created by the Bank since its inception 25 years ago.

The financial support provided by the back was in response to an appeal to the Bank by former Acting Director of the Ghana School of Law Mr. Maxwell Opoku Agyeman. Mr. Agyeman received the cheque on behalf of the Ghana School of Law and the Board of Legal Education and expressed his profound gratitude to the Bank for the support. He assured the bank that the funds provided would be used solely for the intended purposes.

In his remarks, Mr. Agyeman noted that the main lecture theatre of the school had not seen any renovation since it was built in 1958. There was therefore the an urgent need for renovation and expansion works to enhance the school’s enrolment capacity and provide better teaching and learning facilities, Mr. Agyeman added.
